LIHTC – Woodfords - 2016
The Low Income Housing Tax-Credit (LIHTC) project in Woodfords will include the renovation of 24 low-rent units, which will include installation of sustainable building products throughout the home. The project will also include architectural design, engineering and construction of a new community building. Renovation of the 24 low-rent units will include, but not be limited to: the replacement of siding and insulation, gutters, flooring, furnaces, water heaters, cabinets, vanities, countertops, windows, doors, slider doors, solar panels, painting, appliances, wood stoves, sinks, faucets, toilets, tub enclosures, driveways, sidewalks and ramps, Xero-scaping and outdoor storage containers for firewood and garbage pickup. As of July 31, 2016, five (5) units have been completed with demo in progress on the sixth unit. Along with the remodeling of the 24 units, a new community building will be constructed toward the end of the project.
icdBG 14 - CARSON COLONY 4-PLEX - 2016
On January 20, 2016, Washoe Housing Authority broke ground on the Carson Colony’s 4-Plex Unit located at 597 Oneida Street.The project includes site preparation and construction of one shared-wall multi-family unit on a half-acre lot located within the Carson Indian Colony.The entire 4-Plex Unit will consist of 5,520 square feet divided into 4 units of 1,380 square feet each. Two of the units are ADA compliant and have all the necessary ADA accessible components. The 4-Plex is anticipated to be complete and ready for occupancy by the end of August, 2016.

Dresslerville Infrastructure - 2014
In September 2014, Washoe Housing Authority broke ground on the Dresslerville 26 lot Subdivision Infrastructure Project. Installation of the following elements were completed in December 2014:
Paved roads
Curbs, gutters and sidewalks
Electrical lines
Gas line
Cable, phone and internet
Home Improvement Project (HIP) Homes
Errol Smokey
In March 2014, Washoe Housing Authority (WHA) demolished Errol’s existing home due to substandard living conditions. After demolition was complete, WHA prepared the lot at 1595 Watasheamu Drive for the arrival of the new home for Errol Smokey and his family in the Dresslerville Community. The new 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,026 square foot home was funded through the Bureau of Indian Affair’s HIP program. Errol’s home was completed and ready for move in August 2014.
Leona Hart
In November 2015, Washoe Housing Authority (WHA) prepared the lot at 469 Shoshone for the arrival of a new modular home for Ms. Leona Hart in the Carson Colony. Her new 2 bedroom, 2 bath home was funded by the Bureau of Indian Affair’s HIP program. Leona’s home was completed and ready for move in during the month of February 2016.
New Home Construction
This is the first newly constructed low-income rental home built from the ground up since the early 1990’s in the Stewart Indian Colony in Carson City, Nevada. WHA broke ground and began construction in December of 2014 on the new home located at 399 Delahedah. The new home has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and was completed in early October 2015 with the ribbon cutting on October 9, 2015.
Title VI – Flooring Project
Flooring deficiency repairs for 63 homes within the Carson Colony, Dresslerville Community, Stewart Community and the Woodfords Community located in Douglas, Carson and Alpine Counties was completed in September 2015. Work included in this project was demolition and removal of existing floor coverings, repair of damaged sub-flooring, installation of overlayment and finally vinyl and/or carpet installation.
Title VI – Surveys
A survey of all lots in the Carson Colony and Dresslerville Community was requested by the Washoe Housing Authority in order to produce a Master Plat that describes lot configurations of existing and proposed developments. The items completed for both communities were Digital Orthophotos and Topographic Data, the setting of property corners and creation of legal descriptions and exhibits for each lot. This project was completed in 2015.
