Elder Conveyed Health and Safety Requests - The ECHSR program will allow for previously conveyed home owners, who are elders, to make a request for Health and Safety related issues of their home. Health and Safety items may include but are not limited to; major appliances, items or materials that came with the original unit (refrigerator, stove), electrical outlets, wiring, roofing material, functional windows (if they are broken, verses a preference for look), exterior doors, functional toilets, plumbing materials, flooring material (if the material contains mold, swelling or water damage that compromises the structural integrity of the floor)

  • Primarily, these issues may be related to appliances (stove or refrigerator) or materials that will help the unit operate in a safe and healthy condition.

  • Applicant must be the owner of the unit with established ownership.

  • Any materials or appliances purchased with these programs dollars must be comparable to what was previously existing. (ex. Upgrading is not allowed unless the cost is paid for by the owner or there is no cost difference to upgrade)

  • Applications will be available for elders who are 55+ and disabled or 62 and older.

  • Total funding per request shall not exceed $1,500.00, any amounts to exceed the $1,500.00 will be the sole responsibility of the applicant.

Applicants are required to obtain 1 estimate or bid related to the project request. Every attempt must be made by the applicant to ensure that installation shall be done by a 3rd party source
